I came across The Mind Design while searching on Google for an interior design firm that specializes in loft. After reading their Google reviews, which were overwhelmingly positive and browsing through their portfolio, I was immediately drawn to their design style. Their work perfectly matched my taste and the vision I had for my home. I contacted them via WhatsApp and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they responded, even though it was outside of office hours. I was assigned an interior designer named Jolie, who would eventually become the only ID I worked with throughout my renovation journey. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations at first. I was prepared to continue looking at other firms if our conversation didn't go well or if I felt pressured into making decisions. Fortunately, that wasn't the case at all. From the very beginning, Jolie was responsive, patient, and willing to answer every question I had. During our first meeting, she took the time to understand my needs, preferences, and expectations for the renovation instead of rushing through the discussion. After a few meetings, I realized there was no need to continue comparing different ID firms. I had already found the right one. The proposal fit my budget, and Jolie gave me the confidence that my home was in good hands which turned out to be absolutely true. The renovation journey itself was an amazing experience. After receiving the initial 3D design, I worked closely with Jolie to refine it by sharing my ideas, suggesting additions, and pointing out elements I wanted to change. Throughout the entire design process, she remained incredibly patient, listened carefully to my feedback, and made revisions without hesitation. She was always quick to reply, even during weekends or late at night. Beyond being a talented designer, she is genuinely kind as a person, approachable, and dedicated that I honestly didn't expect to find. Throughout the renovation, Jolie accompanied me to visit various suppliers to help me choose the right materials and finishes. The workmanship and overall quality are within my expectations, and the final result looked just as beautiful as the original design. Although they are well known for loft projects, I was particularly drawn to their clean carpentry, thoughtful lighting design, and elegant feature walls. The consistently positive reviews of Sam Kau gave me the confidence to arrange an appointment. From our first meeting, Sam greeted me warmly and made me feel comfortable. Before proposing any ideas, he took the time to understand my lifestyle, preferences, and priorities. One of my key requirements was having plenty of storage while keeping the home feeling spacious, and he listened patiently before sharing his suggestions. A week later, Sam presented the initial design. I was impressed with the overall concept, though I wanted to make a few changes. He welcomed my feedback and refined the design without hesitation. He also reassured me that most ideas could be achieved through his network of suppliers, giving me confidence that the final result would match my vision. Signing a renovation contract is never an easy decision, but Sam’s professionalism, sincerity, and positive attitude gave me confidence that my home was in good hands. Although I visited the site about once a week, I was always impressed by how clean and organised everything was. Floors and toilets were properly protected, materials were neatly arranged, and the site reflected the professionalism of both Sam and his team. The renovation was completed in just six weeks, well ahead of the original timeline of two to two and a half months. Walking into the completed home for the first time genuinely exceeded my expectations. The lighting, cabinetry, feature walls, and overall flow came together exactly as I had imagined—if not better. While there were naturally a few minor touch-ups, the workmanship was excellent and closely reflected the original design. One of the biggest surprises was how much more spacious the apartment felt after renovation. Despite adding extensive cabinetry, feature walls, and furniture, the final layout created an even greater sense of openness while significantly improving storage and functionality. It has now been about a week since handover. My Daughter was entering Primary school within a fortnight and she needed her own bed-study room urgently. I had very stringent criteria for her room. It had to be warm with neutral-earth tones free of visual clutter, indoor lighting had to be at least 400 lumens all round for eyesight protection. Due to space constraints, space-management was also top on our list. Anything gaudy or “obiang” was certainly out. It was the end of Dec 2025 and we needed the room ready in Jan 2026. Goodness gracious. Armed with only one-day’s leave and a DIY-sketched out floor plan, I went to MIND Design’s Ubi showroom early in the morning, not knowing if they’d entertain a small project like mine under pressing time constraints. Chief Designer Sam comes in, and grasped my design & functional needs immediately. Everything after that proceeded with precise project management & clockwork precision: design proposal; rapid dismantling and discarding old furniture; redoing the false ceiling, full electrical wiring & trunking; sound-proof double-glazed windows; painting & plastering; floor polishing; furniture etc, etc. Everything was done & completed on time (nothing short of miraculous especially considering that it was also the holiday season) and exactly as planned (the end result is exactly identical to the artist’s impression in the design proposal). My daughter had always yearned for a “hotel room” to call her own — she has it now. Having so many other work commitments to juggle, MIND Design not only read my MIND, they had also given me something prized — peace of MIND! Highly recommended!

We engaged The Mind Design as our interior designer for our renovation and they were the fourth ID we met before making our decision. What stood out immediately was how vastly different and creative design concepts were compared to the others. Their ideas were refreshing and truly eye-opening. Throughout the renovation journey, The Mind Design was very responsive, attentive and patient. As our loft design was initially not approved by the authorities, they took the time to explain the design clearly and worked through the issues professionally until the loft was eventually approved. They also shared many good recommendations and was always willing to fine-tune the design based on our feedback. The entire renovation was completed timely and all agreed touch-ups were properly carried out, which gave us great peace of mind that quality was assured always. My family and I was looking for an Interior design firm to renovate our newly bought loft apartment. We chance upon the mind design who happens to be the loft specialist. We was introduce to Di Sheng the senior interior designer of the company. Di Sheng was patient and attentive to listen to all our requests. Moreover, he will also recommend ways to improve on our idealistic design. We also had a very tight time frame for him to work with. Knowing our situation, he went the extra mile to ensure we can move in to our place within our ideal time frame. Within a month plus, our dream house was well renovated with good quality workmanship. What we loved about working with Di Sheng - We managed to move into our place in less than 2 months although we did quite complex renovations like hacking and rebuilding a lot of carpentry! - Di Sheng was very happy to spend many weekends with us to select furniture and fittings for our new place, often getting us good deals and more value for money buys - Very professional and great after-sales services. We are very satisfied with the work by interior designer Kenneth Yip. We chose to engage the Mind Design due to its good reputation and I think interior design and renovation are all about having a peace of mind. And I think the team certainly didn’t fail in that aspect. From 3D design to actual carpentry work, the team worked efficiently and respond well despite our perpetual changes in material and colour choices. Although there are certain minor inevitable hiccups during the process, but the team took full responsibility for their mistakes and made sure our choices are perfectly executed. I think it is really important how an interior design firm deal with problems in the renovation process, and the Mind Design did very well in that aspect. We met DiSheng when we walked into Mind Design and we were lucky to have him as our ID. We have a tight timeline to move in in less than 2 months from the get go. Prior to that we have many long meetings with DiSheng working through all the details. At the start, we had big challenges on positioning the staircase for the loft. Half way through when the renovation started, we had to change the design including hacking walls and ripping off existing cabinets by developer. Facing these challenges, DiSheng was calm and composed. He worked patiently, and tirelessly, together with us, to overcome each and every one of the challenges. He ensured that the contractors are working on the project complete on time. He project managed and coordinated the various contractors to work on the unit like a clock work, and managed to complete the work within 6 weeks for us to move in. Kudos! Thanks to you DiSheng!

Despite the small budget (S$10K) to work with, The Mind Design was very patience and detailed in explaining options that fit my lifestyle needs. They are not pushy at sales, only recommends the essentials and provided a quote within a few days. This is in stark contrast to some ID firms that don’t bother to quote after knowing the budget. I am thankful they are willing to help despite the busy schedule working on many high value projects. From signing the contract till handover of the project, they had been very responsive in replying to queries even after office hours and on weekends! Excellent carpentry works and colour choices for my home. Engaging a good reno firm and capable ID is critical, as it can make your reno journey a pleasant one or a nightmare. We are very satisfied with the interior design designed and delivered by The Mind Design. In particular, we want to give a shoutout to Sam, our ID. As the eminent loft specialist in Singapore, they bring with them their expertise which allows them to develop beautiful designs for the loft. Within 1 week, Sam had managed to produce a design which met our expectations. He was also quick to accommodate any last-minute changes to the design. Instead of the typical laissez-faire ID where the ID simply designs and then outsources the work to subcontractors with no supervision, we were pleasantly surprised to see that Sam took the initiative to come down and inspect the work done by the subcontractors. Sam would frequently update us on the progress of the loft with photos. Also, we appreciated the attention to detail that he paid towards the work. The price was very reasonable as well. The process of building a loft is incredibly laborious due to the approval processes and design elements required for a tall structure. That being said, choosing The Mind Design was the correct choice since their prior expertise made the process quick and easy, even in the time of COVID-19. There are not many loft specialist in SG but I they are definitely of the best because of their excellent design and quality. Our ID Louis is proved to be a capable and responsible person who never fail to update us on our renovation progress. We trust him so much that we even left him to decide on some minor works that needs to be done. He also understood our busy work schedule so he didn't really gave us any problem. They didn’t nicknamed Jihan as Fast and Furious for nothing. She managed to speed up the entire renovation process just to accommodate to our tight schedule. We were unsure ourselves if it was even possible to start designing and complete the renovation of our new home within 4 weeks, but glad that we found Jihan from The Mind Design. Jihan worked with us closely throughout the entire renovation from taking measurements, choosing of colors, right down to deciding where to put our framed pictures. We had a tight budget and she worked with it to complete our dream home. I want to specially thank her for her honest opinions and attention on the smallest of details. She did an awesome job overseeing the entire renovation process, even though we barely meet over the whole duration. After doing much research online, we found The Mind Design as we wanted to build a loft in our new condominium which has a unique high ceiling. Knowing that there are specific guidelines for lofts in a condominium, I wanted to be sure that it is done safely and also compliant to regulations. We are so grateful to have found Sam (based on their great reviews and experience with lofts), who has been so professional, dedicated and helpful throughout our journey of designing and renovation. Mr Sam Me and my Wife have been sourcing for someone to help on our minor renno for our kitchen and had went couple of so call designer, Finally we select the mind design reason been is, helpful,attitude,responsibility and mindful with ideas. Below are some commitment or so call Service which I salute to them. 4/1/2017 1pm call up Sam to fix on first appointment. 4pm first meet up at our house. 5/1/2017 10am visit showroom with all quotation ready and sample present by Mr Sam. 12pm sign agreement with commence date written to start immediately and completion deadline before new year eve which fall 26/1/2017. 6pm Sam what Apps on meeting agenda for next day. 6/1/2017 10am Mr sam reach our house to have a brief of what will he do later with all his man and seeking us for any changes which we need. 1030am His hacking team came dismantle all debris with proper protection throughout in our living room. Safety or precaution briefing was been given from Mr sam to this team. 11am Mr Sam rode with me and my Wife to select tile at his supplier and throughout advice was given from him on anti slip , future Maintenece and Color matching. 12pm mr sam brought us to Teka kitchen at UE Sq 230pm reach home for for meeting with his electrician and carpentry and final advice was given to his team on completion before this new year. THE End Overall what we can say is this team is incredible.throughout I don t hear or see any nasty argument on why given short notice or madness owner for rushing this small renno job at this period. If we were to do an expectation vs reality meme, we would definitely say that our reality way surpasses our expectation because The Mind Design went above and beyond what was required. We hired designer from The Mind Design as our interior designer but we found a friend in him instead.
When we first met him, we clicked almost instantly because he was the only designer who can envision clearly what we wanted and he was very straightforward and forthcoming. He wasn’t pushy nor did he try to force us into signing up with the company just because of his sales quota but he was very interested to design our home as industrial design is his forte. We also felt his sincerity in bringing our dream home to life.
From the very first day we signed up with him, he took really good care of us in terms of managing our budget. He also showed great ownership towards our house and treated it as though it was his. We were busy preparing for our wedding then, and he was a great help so that we didn’t even have to worry about our house at all. He went with us to all our shopping trips (kitchen, toilet, bedroom, living room stuffs) just to make sure that all the accessories matches the theme of the house.
We now sit here comfortably in our beautiful home (which received TONS of compliments from family and friends), thankful that we met someone as sincere as him. And the best part is, despite The Mind Design being a new company, we feel that their quality of work, product and professionalism are so much better to that of other so-called ‘renowned’ companies. The Mind Design is the designer to go to if you want your dream home a reality. He’ll make the magic happen

My renovated condo has high quality finishes, a modern luxury feel, and do a perfect LOFT inside my house with no wasting my high ceiling space!! I am pleased to write this review for The Mind Design. I happened to find out about her in one of the TV episode “Project Dream Home” that she participated in. Needing a renovation for my investment property, I called and they agreed to renovate the unit within our specified budget. Little did I realize how that request would become. After working with them on this simple project, I felt very comfortable with their professionalism and confident in their abilities. I have subsequently used their services on my own primary residence. Our request was to have plenty of storage without sacrificing the beauty and without the heavy look that usually accompany design with plenty of storage. They handled the job extremely well, arranging contractors, overseeing all of the work and selecting all of the colour for the wallpaper, curtain and sofa. They are very effective mixture of mirrors and natural stone has dramatically capture the beauty of our surrounding, making it seem as if we are living in the out-of-doors and extending that feeling of openness throughout the whole living room. The hours that she spent going through the many different aspects of the renovation further earned my respect. They have a keen insight that allows them to see a solution to a problem quickly and efficiently. I am pleased with the calibre of the work and the fact that they can watch the bottom line. The job was completed on time AND on budget AND the striking appearance of the interior of our home has been apparent to anyone who enters the front door. You can’t ask for more than that. I have no reservation whatsoever in recommending The Mind Design to anyone with a home that needs work. With The Mind Design, you will receive excellent service, quality craftsmanship and value for your investment.

My husband colleague has previously engaged The Mind Design so she recommended Sam to us based on her good experience working with him. Indeed, Sam was amazing and my husband and I actually went back to him again for our second renovation when we shifted to another place. Sam is a brilliant designer; he would listen to us and shared with us his ideas. The piping in my master bedroom’s bathroom looked quite unpleasant so I actually voiced it out to Sam. It was more of just a comment but Sam really took all our feedback into consideration and would try to improvise on them. We were really impressed by how he took an initiative to conceal the piping, making it look much better after that. For any defects, he would not delay nor pull a long face to get them fixed. His working relationship with his carpenters are fantastic and all the parties involved in the renovation were very reliable. Some designers tend to make empty promises but Sam is not the kind who would simply paint a beautiful picture for the homeowners from the start. He is realistic about the timeline and expectations and would explain to us reasons why he thinks some of the things might not work for our home. We fully recommend The Mind Design to anyone who is looking for interior designers!

To The MIND Design We just wanted to thank Sam for coming up with such a wonderful design for our house. The overall service and follow-up was excellent. Sam would get back to us as soon as he could. Sam is someone who is very efficient and willing to go beyond his job scope which made the whole renovation process smooth sailing. He also managed to finish everything according to schedule. We were very satisfied with his design especially the kitchen design. Sam was able to suggest to us designs that could maximize space use to its best. We have made several changes along the way but Sam was very accommodation to the changes. We are very happy with the end result and his service was excellent. Overall, we found the workmanship and service was good. Even though there were some minor issues from the renovation and after the renovation, Sam was prompt to rectify these issues. I chance upon The Mind Design when I was looking for Interior Designer. I needed someone who can give me the refreshing ideas with good theme, good design taste and clever spatial planning. I approached a few IDs to provide quotation and perspectives. The Mind Design matched my preferences well to provide the design. Needless to say, I signed up for the job with them. In particular, she did well in their design with good sense of colour matching, dimensions and spatial planning. They displayed meticulous attention to details during the execution phase. They coordinated the works well with good scheduling and planning. They showed professionalism in her area of work and the final result speaks for them. Sam was the third ID I met during the selection process for the renovation of my apartment. I was impressed by his no nonsense and yet courteous approach to the discussion during our first meeting and I knew straight away he is the man for the project. When drawing up the design, Sam had been a good listener, he incorporated all my requirements and provided creative solution to area confined by space or structural constraint. The final design was beyond my expectation and it reflected the effort, thoroughness and creativity Sam put into his work. Renovation work was carried out in the midst of the pandemic. In spite of manpower shortage and logistical problem in the industry the project was completed on time and the quality was beyond reproach. His wide network of subcontractors which he can called upon at short notice was a big plus. Together with his experience and knowledge many site problems were expeditiously resolved. Throughout the renovation period, which can be challenging at times, Sam and I maintained a very good working relationship with many give and take along the way. The result is a beautiful and cosy apartment which I am proud to call home. Thank you Sam!

We have done our research and met several IDs before deciding to engage The Mind Design. Have seen many of their creations on numerous Reno websites and were very impressed. Keeping in mind that we will be working closely with the ID during the Reno process thus we prefer someone whom we feel comfortable with. The Mind Design is the one! They are able to provide good suggestions according to our specifications and listens to our ideas & concern. Although the rectification of defects took quite a while by the developer but They are still able to meet the renovation timeline as promised.

The Mind Design ID service, design and carpentry workmanship is splendid! The interior designer from The Mind Design is very attentive and understanding to our need. She is an excellent designer as she can integrate creativity with functionality. We are very impressed with the home design. Besides designing work, she also the project manager for the renovation. She followed through the whole process from carpentry materials, lights, wallpaper selection to construction so as to ensure that the completed reno is exactly the same as what she had drawn. Credit have to be given to the carpentry team and electrician too. Their workmanship is excellent and are always ready to offer additional services at no additional charge. Overall, Kudos to the team in building our dream home! This is the best renovation experience ever, highly recommended!!

Was recommended by a good friend to use The Mind Design as our ID.. Compared a few quotes and found his very competitive. They were also very responsive and fast. Fast forward to our reno, they are as equally responsive and very responsible. They pointed out areas that we didn't think was a problem and got the contractor to rectify. We really wanted to shift in before CNY and they made that happened in less than a month, hassle free with very minimal worries! Multiple thumbs up! ??? It has been a pleasure working with our interior designer from The Mind Design. My wife and I had wanted a Victorian-theme for our new residence. Despite Victorian-style design not being her forte, she accepted our assignment and worked with us in designing the dream home that we wanted. We had given her a tight schedule as we wanted to avoid 7th Lunar month. Despite the tight schedule, she was able to deliver as promised and the quality of work was satisfactory. There was no doubt of their commitment to our project as we saw on a few occasions that renovation work was still ongoing at night.

We visited a few IDs before we decided to work with Sam on our house renovation. Sam was recommended by an ex-colleague who assured me that the service and workmanship were something that I do not have to worry about. After settling the quotation, Sam provided the 3D drawings within a week. After a discussion on the designs and selection of laminates, he provided the revised drawings within a week and we were ready to start our renovation the following week. He coordinated with the electrician and followed strictly to the date and time we needed to start renovation without the presence of my husband and I. He helped us choose lights, curtains and sofa colour and provided suggestions on any big or small things that we asked him. Even after we paid him in full, he still arranged the carpenter and painter to help on the very minor touch-ups of the paint and fixtures he built. My husband and I have no complaints or regrets engaging him because he nabbed the look and feel we want and made the whole renovation process a fuss-free one. We would highly recommend our friends to use Sam if they are looking for IDs. Many thumbs up for his great service and dedication to get our dream house ready!

We’re really thankful to have Sam in-charge of our house renovation! ? We had a bad experience with the first ID that renovated our first home and hence, we were careful with the selection of ID this time round. At the very first time we met, Sam made a great impression by spending 3 hours with us, going through every detail of the design that we had in mind. He’s very meticulous and knowledgeable, giving us good advices (Esp in building the loft). Sam is also very responsible. As this was our first major renovation, we were more careful with the ID selection process and actually met up with 10 firms before deciding to go with The Mind Design. They have received many excellent reviews in the past, but what won us over was their willingness to first listen and then provide suggestions, as well as the connection we felt with her. They have not let us down one bit, and through the project they have proven time and again their ability to not only come up with designs that we love, but also managing timelines / contractors / hiccups / rectifications with aptitude and professionalism. We handed over a plain, old apartment and received back a home that looks even better than the 3D simulations and built with high quality materials and workmanship. We were blessed to have a positive first experience in our renovation journey, and would not hesitate to recommend The Mind Design to anyone.

The Mind Design managed to speed up the entire renovation process just to accommodate to our tight schedule. We were unsure ourselves if it was even possible to start designing and complete the renovation of our new home within 4 weeks, but glad that we found The Mind Design. They worked with us closely throughout the entire renovation from taking measurements, choosing of colors, right down to deciding where to put our framed pictures. We had a tight budget and they worked with it to complete our dream home. I want to specially thank them for their honest opinions and attention on the smallest of details. They did an awesome job overseeing the entire renovation process, even though we barely meet over the whole duration. The eventual look of our home is as close as it can get from the 3D drawings generated. Kudos for The Mind Design. Really happy with the results.

Been to many ID companies over a year but didn't feel the IDs understood my needs, until I met The Mind Design. They took time to understand what I had in mind (pun unintended), the colour scheme and together with the furniture I have bought earlier, they drew up a proposal that impressed me. We met 2-3 times before we signed a contract, in which they did not rush me into committing. Renovation work, though we met some hiccups, was good. The Mind Design was prompt in updating me. Along the way, I made more changes to the original design and they was accommodating. Although I exceeded my initial budget, I'm delighted it turned out the way I wanted. Now that I have fully paid the house, I hope to purchase my 2nd home in 3 years' time. And for sure, I will look for The Mind Design again.
